Texas Medicare Guide · Our reviewers
The people who check what you read here.
HealthBenefitsCompass LLC, a subsidiary of HealthcareGPS Inc., operates Texas Medicare Guide. Both reviewers are HealthcareGPS Inc. staff. Pages that carry a review line were checked by the reviewer named on it, on the date shown. Here is who they are and what each review means.
Meet the reviewers
Two named people check the pages that carry a review line. The line names the reviewer, what was reviewed and the date, and the review register lists every reviewed page. Both reviewers work at HealthcareGPS Inc., the parent company of HealthBenefitsCompass LLC, which operates this site.

Accuracy review
Lauri Middleton, RN, MSN
Chief Clinical and Content Officer · HealthcareGPS Inc. · 37+ years of experience
Reviews Medicare rules, dates, costs and coverage explanations for accuracy against the official sources each page cites.
Registered Nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing, more than 37 years of cardiothoracic nursing experience and roles in health insurance. She has long worked to give consumers and healthcare professionals the tools to navigate health insurance and make better healthcare choices.
- Credentials
- RN — Registered Nurse
- MSN — Master of Science in Nursing
- License
- Licensed Medicare insurance agent
Key note: Lauri is also a licensed Medicare insurance agent. That license is why she reads enrollment, plan and cost rules the way an agent must. It is not used on this site: nothing here is sold, recommended or enrolled, and reading this site does not make anyone your agent.

Plain-language review
Karen Orilla
VP Marketing and Design · HealthcareGPS Inc. · 20+ years of experience
Reviews pages for plain language, readability and clear design for older adults and the people who help them.

A review checks a page against the official sources it cites, on the date shown. It is not medical, legal or insurance advice for your situation, and it does not replace confirmation from Medicare, your plan or a licensed professional.

How a review works
An accuracy review compares a page's dates, rules, costs and coverage explanations with the official sources it cites — Medicare.gov, CMS, the Social Security Administration and the responsible state or local program — and flags anything that has changed or is not supported. A plain-language review reads the same page as a visitor would: is the answer near the top, is every term explained, does the layout work at large type and on a phone, and can someone helping a parent follow it.
Lauri is also a licensed Medicare insurance agent. That license is why she can read enrollment, plan and cost rules the way an agent must, and it is not used here: this site sells nothing, recommends no plan and enrolls no one, and reading it does not make anyone your agent.
Both reviews are recorded in the register above with the page and the date. A page that is not in the register carries no review claim, and rule cards marked "verify before relying on it" still await a further sign-off. A review is not medical, legal or insurance advice for your situation; your documents, Medicare, your plan or a licensed professional confirm what applies to you.
Something to correct?
If a reviewed page disagrees with an official source, tell the person who shared this site which page and sentence needs another look, and include the source if you have it. Confirmed corrections are dated and applied across the network. Do not send Medicare numbers, health records or financial details.
